Project Info
These clients had gone out of their way to build their urban home around two beautiful old river red gums, complete with resident koala!
Consequently, they wanted to enhance the site in keeping with the trees. Their love of the Flinders Ranges informed the design choices, including small areas of native bushland and climbers along the fence line. A desire for a productive space resulted in dwarf fruit trees and a patch for salad vegies and herbs.
An investment property on the same site also needed a low maintenance garden, providing privacy from the road and a beautiful outlook from the house. Both of these needs were addressed by planting hardy natives, using liberal amounts of mulch and installing a watering system.
Testimonial
Amanda from Green Platypus Gardens is a good listener – her designs are creative and functional and she comes up with interesting options that are outside the square. She serves the client’s interests and goes the extra mile. Amanda knows her stuff and is able to make it accessible to the novice gardener. I was never into gardening before, but she made it look easy and fun and now I love tending our patch. We are both loving our garden!
